Choose the Product You Want to Sell
The essence of a private label brand is identifying a product and branding it as your own. The choice of product can be based on personal brand, passion, a unique recipe, or a distinctive perspective on a product.
Commercial Kitchens
Commercial kitchens are fully equipped kitchens available for rent for shared use and are licensed as such. For more information on commercial kitchens in Minneapolis, refer to Commercial Kitchen Information.
Additional Business Costs
Private label goods are generally more expensive than reselling or drop shipping. To determine the margins, calculate the costs from the initial creation of the product to its arrival at the warehouse or store. This includes manufacturing costs, shipping and customs, and inbound shipping.
Food Labels
Proper labeling is crucial for private label food goods. The front label should feature your logo and branding, while the back label should display the address of production, ingredient listing, allergy warning, and nutritional information. If you sell less than 100,000 units a year and have fewer than 100 employees, you may be eligible for FDA exemption from nutritional analyses.
